Heb 4 14-16 |
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the
heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For
we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses,
but we have one Who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was
without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that
we may receive mercy and find Grace to help us in our time of need. |

1 The 1 6-10 |
You became imitators of us and of the Lord; in spite of severe suffering,
you welcomed the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. And so you
became a model to all the believers in Macedonia and Achaia. The Lord's message
rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia --your faith in God has
become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for
they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you
turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his
Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead--Jesus, who rescues us from
thecoming wrath. |

1 The 2 14-16 |
For you, brothers, became imitators of God's churches in Judea, which are
in Christ Jesus: You suffered from your own countrymen the same things those
churches suffered from the Jews, who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and
also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to all men in their
effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In
this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come
upon them at last. |

I The 5 16-17 |
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for
this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. |

II The 1 3-10 |
We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because
your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each
other is increasing. Therefore, among God's churches we boast about your
perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring. All
this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be
counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering. God is just:
He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who
are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is
revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels. He will punish
those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They
will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of
the Lord and from the majesty of his power on the day he comes to be glorified
in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed.
This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you. |

Heb 11 35 - 40 |
Women received back their dead, raised to life again. Others were tortured
and refused to be released, so that they might gain a better resurrection. Some
faced jeers and flogging, while still others were chained and put in prison.
They were stoned ; they were sawed in two; they were put to death by the sword.
They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and
mistreated-- the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and
mountains, and in caves and holes in the ground. These were all commended for
their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned
something better for us so that only together with us would they be made
perfect. |

Acts 20 22-24 |
And now, compelled by the Spirit, I am going to Jerusalem, not knowing what
will happen to me there. I only know that in every city the Holy Spirit warns
me that prison and hardships are facing me. However, I consider my life worth
nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord
Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. |

Acts 20 29-31 |
I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will
not spare the flock Even from your own number men will arise and distort the
truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard! Remember
that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with

from Judea. Coming over to us, he took Paul's belt, tied his own hands and feet
with it and said, "The Holy Spirit says, `In this way the Jews of
Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and will hand him over to the
Gentiles.' When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to
go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, "Why are you weeping and breaking
my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the
name of the Lord Jesus."When he would not be dissuaded, we gave up and
said, "The Lord's will be done." |

I Cor 12 22-27 |
On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are
indispensable,and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with
special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special
modesty, while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has
combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that
lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts
should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part
suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. Now you
are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. |

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you
gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed
clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison

when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to
drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and
clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
"The King will reply, `I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of
the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' "Then he will say to
those on his left, `Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire
prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing
to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and
you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was
sick and In prison and you did not look after me.' "They also will answer,
`Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes
or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' "He will reply, `I tell you
the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not
do for me.' "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the
righteous to eternal life." |

II Cor 5 1-7 |
Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a
building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.
Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed with our heavenly dwelling, because
when we are clothed, we will not be found naked. For while we are in this tent,
we groan and are burdened, because we do not wish to be unclothed but to be
clothed with our heavenly dwelling, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up
by life. Now it is God who has made us for this very purpose and has given us
the Spirit as a deposit, Guaranteeing what is to come. Therefore we are always
confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from
the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. |
