- Psalm 85:8-10 - I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises
peace to his people, his saints-- but let them not return to folly. Surely his
salvation is near those who fear him, that his glory may dwell in our land.
Love and faithfulness meet together; righteousness and peace kiss each other.
- Isaiah 32:17 - The fruit of righteousness will be peace; the effect of
righteousness will be quietness and confidence forever.
- John 15:10-12 - If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just
as I have obeyed my Father's commands and remain in his love. I have told you
this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. My command
is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
- John 16:33 - "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have
peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the
world."
- Hebrews 5:14 - But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have
trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
- James 1:22 - 25 - Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive
yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do
what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking
at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man
who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do
this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it--he will be blessed in
what he does.
- James 3:14-18 -But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your
hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such "wisdom" does
not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. For where
you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil
practice. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then
peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial
and sincere. Peacemakers who sow in peace raise a harvest of righteousness.
- I Peter 3:8-12 -Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be
sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. Do not repay evil
with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were
called so that you may inherit a blessing. For, "Whoever would love life
and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful
speech. He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to
their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
